Tourism industry expects to begin recovery in the next three months
Santo Domingo. – Paola Rainieri de Díaz, president of the National Association of Hotels and Restaurants (Asonahores), said that this sector feels supported by President Luis Abinader and Tourism Minister David Collado, with the launch of the recovery plan.
She assured that everything that has been discussed in meetings in recent weeks has been what has been presented this Tuesday.
“What we understand is that from the month of September, October we can begin to recover some of the tourists who are not traveling because they feel uncertain that they could be infected with COVID-19”, she said.
Rainieri understands that some of the measures that are being taken, such as travel insurance, are innovative measures that guarantee the health of those who visit the country.
“These are measures that do not exist in other parts of the world and give a guarantee to the visitor that here they will receive adequate medical care, it is also important to specify in addition to that that there is a specialized hospital network in the country, even certified to give visitors safety,” Rainieri de Diaz said.
The president of Asonahores explained that it is important to understand that this plan will not be effective immediately and it is important to understand that it is a recovery process.
