The Dominican tourism sector registered a growth of 7.5% in April compared to March, with the arrival of more than 327,000 visitors, said Minister David Collado at a press conference.

The month of April was also positive for hotels in terms of establishment opening, with availability rates above 70% in six of the most visited tourist areas of the country, and the open occupancy rate of hotels also continued to increase. , standing at 46.6% in the last week of this month.
Regarding the demographic profile, the majority of the tourists who visited the country were women between 21 and 49 years old and the average stay was 7 nights.
At the end of April 2021, a total of 3,549 flights had been received, from 48 countries, 131 airports, and through 133 airlines.
