Study analyzes status of digital health in the Dominican Republic
A study that contemplates how the digital transformation is going in the country will be presented and will describe how service provider organizations, insurance companies and the pharmaceutical industry are doing in their digitization priorities. analyzes
“The State of Digital Health in the Dominican Republic”, as it is called, includes a diagnosis and analysis of the current situation of the digital transformation of the health sector.
It will be presented at the second Latin American Congress on Digital Health, which will take place on September 6 and 7, organized by Arium Salud Digital and AF Strategic Communication.
The study, which covers Santo Domingo, Santiago, Puerto Plata, La Romana and Punta Cana, includes the perspective of patients in relation to the digitalization of health services and the impact on their quality of life, as well as the main challenges to advance in the process of digital transformation.
Likewise, it will address the perception of the main actors in the public and private sectors, including directors of hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centers, unions, representatives of health risk managers, pharmacies, as well as those in charge of the technology departments of these entities, citizens and patients. At the same time it will become a referent of consultation for the sector.
“This first publication will analyze the needs of the public and private sectors and will show the status of care processes in service provider organizations, the insurance and pharmaceutical sectors, and their needs and priorities for digitization and digital transformation”, explained the principal investigator of the studio, Magdalena Rathe, president and founder of the Plenitud Foundation and OSES technical advisor.
The research that will serve as the basis for establishing the situation of the health sector in the digital aspect and will offer recommendations for its strengthening is carried out by the Social Security Observatory (OSES), attached to INTEC, in collaboration with the Plenitud Foundation.
Fedor Vidal, CEO of Arium Salud Digital, the company that sponsors the study, reported that the research is being carried out by the Social Security Observatory (OSES), attached to the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation (VRII), of the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo. (INTEC), in which the Plenitud Foundation acts as technical advisor.
Amelia Reyes Mora, president of AF ComunicaciĆ³n, expressed her enthusiasm that this research be presented during the congress, which will take place at the Real InterContinental Santo Domingo hotel.
