Soraia Angiuoli: we have a mission of setting standards for healthcare

Soraia Angiuoli, healthcare management professional with experience in hospital administration, operations, finance, and international service, reassured the mission of Johns Hopkins Medicine as “setting standards for healthcare”.

“In our mission, we have patient care, teaching (academia), and research,” said the healthcare expert in a brief statement to DoHealthWell® on September 5th, at the opening night of the 4th International Health and Wellness Tourism Congress in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

When asked about the value of Johns Hopkins Medicine to a country like the Dominican Republic, Angiuoli highlighted that the entity has “(…) the latest technology, the latest research. Our goal is to teach other hospitals, other universities outside of the United States. We want to be able to teach physicians here in the Dominican Republic,” she affirmed.

Panelist at the Congress

Soraia Angiuoli was a panelist at the health congress in Santo Domingo, hosted by the Dominican Health Tourism Association and AF Comunicacion Estrategica.

At the panel, Soraia Angiuoli detailed the principles that have contributed to Johns Hopkins Medicine success in its mission of clinical care, education, and research.

“We put the patient at the center of our care. In the Dominican Republic, we put our knowledge and expertise to educate the next generation of physicians and build bridges with global partners for the benefit of their communities,” added Angiuoli on the interview.

Currently, Soraia Angiuolu, M.H.A., is the Director of Business Growth and Relationship Development for Patient Services & National Capital Region at Johns Hopkins Medicine International.

In her role as director of business growth and relationship development, Soraia Angiuoli is responsible for advancing Johns Hopkins Medicine International’s Patient Services business objectives, including developing strategic relationships with clients, payers and referral sources.

As director of the national capital region, she leads JHI efforts in partnering with Sibley Memorial and Suburban hospitals to grow the international program at these strategic sites. She works to increase access and opportunities for international patients located abroad or in Washington, D.C. She also coordinates with administrative teams to develop streamlined business processes focused on seamlessly integrating our organizations.

She has over ten years of progressively responsible experience in hospital administration, operations, finance and international services, including six years at Johns Hopkins Medicine International, most recently as administrator for the patient financial services team.

Before joining Johns Hopkins Medicine International, Ms. Angiuoli worked as a concierge leader at Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She provided oversight for the daily concierge staff and developed streamlined business processes focused on customer service.

A native of Sao Paulo, Ms. Angiuoli received a master’s degree in health administration from the University of Sao Paulo and a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and business management from Anhembi Morumbi University.
