Direct air exchanges between Russia and Samaná, in the Dominican Republic, began formally with the arrival of Norwind Airlines flight N4-513 from Moscow.

“We expect to recover “all Dominican destinations that received flights in the pre-pandemic period”, indicates a press release from the Ministry of Tourism.

The flight departed from Moscow Sheremetevo Airport and carried 440 passengers.

Samaná, one of the most important tourist destinations in the country, was added to the list of Dominican poles to be added to the direct routes served by Russian airlines, after the “unrestricted reactivation” of air flow between Russia and the Dominican Republic.

“Samaná is the fifth of the Dominican destinations connected nonstop by direct flights originating in the Russian Federation and it is expected that in the coming weeks flights will be activated from the main capitals of the Russian regions to the main tourist poles of the country”, indicated the document.

He added that the team of the Dominican Embassy in Russia was present at the Sheremetevo airport in Moscow, saying goodbye, thanking and handing out little Dominican flags to the passengers who chose Santa Bárbara de Samaná as their rest destination on these vacations.
