Dominican Republic requires a national airline

Given the current situation with the international airline Jet Blue regarding the constant mistreatment of Dominican passengers (regardless of the social, economic or political sector to which they belong), it is necessary to return to a national airline with mixed capital from the Dominican state and sector private.

In the Ranking of the richest people in Latin America, the Dominican Republic already has more than ten people according to Forbers magazine, this means that we must make one more attempt to get our Dominican businessmen to invest in areas that generate economic development, but they are fundamental in the sustainability of the country’s image.

In my opinion, a strategic figure to take on this type of challenge with the Dominican government is Frank Rainieri, founder of the Punta Cana group, which is also the owner of the Punta Cana airport, recognized for its operational efficiency.

I previously wrote about the contributions of the Vicini family to economic and social sustainability, but we can also do so with the brothers Frank and Fernando Rainieri in the economic sectors, specifically in tourism, always proudly carrying the tricolor flag as well as trying to attract investment to the country.

The Rainieri family has the economic resources and sufficient general vision to be in charge of a national airline project with the Dominican state as a strategic partner, this is my suggestion.

The failure of Dominican aviation is present in the memory, it even left a negative image worldwide, but the way I am presenting this new stage, I think it will be a very beneficial process for the interests of the country.

President Luis Abinader has a great opportunity to get a national airline operating by taking advantage of Frank Rainieri as a Dominican partner, as well as managing investor in the public-private partnership modality, since our economic development must promote growth tools in each of the challenges imposed by the realities of today’s world.

The economic development of a country requires taking advantage of opportunities but above all to generate wealth within a legal framework, as well as regulatory bodies that play their role to give sustainability to the image of the country and its brands that represent it worldwide.
