American Airlines accepts homemade COVID-19 test results from travelers
American Airlines begins accepting COVID-19 tests carried out at home and monitored remotely for international flights.
Customers who opt for this option should contact the ‘eMed’ website, which offers test kits that can be performed at home from the brand BinaxNOW, from the pharmaceutical company Abbott.
“We want clients to focus on planning their trip to reunite with family or relax after more than a year at home, without the added stress of figuring out where and how they will get the correct test”, said in a statement the vice president of experience at American Airlines, Julie Rath.
The set, which is worth 150 dollars, includes six test kits and according to Abbott it offers results in 15 minutes. Individual tests can also be requested at various pharmacies in the country.
The test must be done under the remote supervision of a person who contacts the client through the website.
The company ensures that the person traveling outside the United States can take these tests with them and access the website 72 hours before the flight back to the country.
AA points out that for people who prefer to take a test in person, it has expanded its collaboration with the CareNow company, in the United States, which has made 160 places available to American travelers throughout the country, to be able to take the test; which broadens the airline offers.
American also has the ‘VeryFLY’ application through which users can send the documentation required by the company before traveling, including all information related to COVID-19.
