Air Europa links Madrid with Samaná for the first time
Air Europa will carry out air operations for the first time from Madrid to the Juan Bosch International Airport, located in El Catey, Samaná.
The Civil Aviation Board (JAC) reported that operations are set to once a week on Saturdays from June 26th to September 4th, 2021, in a Boing787 aircraft that holds 6,600 seats.
Air Europa currently flies from Madrid to Santo Domingo, to Punta Cana and from Barcelona to Santo Domingo and Punta Cana. Also, from Bilbao to Santo Domingo and from Malaga to Punta Cana.
Also, JAC learned of the request for the Certificate of Economic Authorization (CAE) of Air Rotor Service to offer non-regular air transport services for passengers, domestic and international from La Isabela International Airport, Dr. Joaquín Balaguer (El Higüero).
The national air operator will be carrying out internal flights throughout the country between public or private heliports and will be authorized to fly regularly, with passenger services, in an Airbus Helicopters brand aircraft, model AS350 BA with a capacity for 4 passengers.
The president of the JAC, José E. Marte Piantini, stressed that the new air operations will strengthen the sector and increase passenger and cargo traffic to the country.
