Abinader projects the Great Santo Domingo as a world-class destination
President Luis Abinader assured that “Great Santo Domingo is changing. It is renewing itself and exploiting all its potential to be what it should be: a world-class city”.
The president reiterated the government’s support for investors, during the first term to start the construction of the Piantini District, a 55 million dollar real estate project investment that combines a hotel, business areas, entertainment, and gastronomy.
He assured that with the beginning of this work his administration continues to carry the message of the change that Santo Domingo will have “and everyone will notice it.”
“In this city, we will be able, soon and thanks to projects like this, to have an offer in all areas and of world quality”, he pointed out.
Distrio Piantini Project
Abinader thanked the project directors for the initiative, commitment, and confidence to invest in the Dominican Republic. “I have always said that this is the time to invest here because we have an inexhaustible range of possibilities”.
Piantini District is built in an area of 3,206.19 square meters and will provide more than 2,000 direct and indirect jobs in its construction phase and 200 direct jobs in its operation phase.
The head of state informed that this project marks the debut of the Hyatt Place brand, located in the epicenter of the country’s capital, Santo Domingo, to provide the best tourist, commercial and financial offer. “Congratulations and welcome”, he added during the event.
Hyatt Hotel is a hotel chain with 925 hotels in 65 countries. The launch of 120 suites in the Piantini District will mark the brand’s debut in Santo Domingo and will join the newly opened Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana and Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana.
José Manuel Santelises, promoter and director of the Piantini District, explained that “we propose a project focused on business tourism and contribute to the creation of a sustainable, entrepreneurial and compact city, with the idea of neighborhoods designed so that its guests do not have to travel very far to do their daily chores”.
While Ernesto Mejía, director and promoter of the Piantini District, pondered the importance of designing a project for the group in accordance with the guidelines of the city’s Territorial Ordering Plan and thanked the urban planning vision of this initiative has found the support of the authorities.
